The Huertgen Forest and the “Ochsenkopf Trail”

English

Visit the Huertgen Forest, which was the first battlefield on German ground near the end of the Second World War. In a short walking tour the history of 1944/1945 will become visible. The story of Robert Cahow will give a civilian perspective to this military history.

Cahow volunteered to save his injured comrades, but he stepped on a mine and died on 13 December 1944 in the Huertgen Forest. Cahow's remains were discovered in 2000.
